Home automation installer Devon

A smart home designed around rooms, routines and real people.

We design and install Nice Home Control systems across South Devon, bringing compatible lighting, heating, entertainment, security, entry, gates and shading into one dependable experience—with obvious local controls in every important room.

Designed around the result

Smart should describe how the home behaves—not how many apps it has.

Independent products can all be connected while still feeling disconnected. A properly designed control system understands the relationship between rooms, occupancy, time, light, weather and personal preferences, then leaves a clear way to make a change.

01

An app for every product

Lighting, heating, cameras, blinds and media should not force the household through separate accounts and unfamiliar interfaces.

02

A phone as the only control

Fixed room controls, keypads, touchscreens and sensors remain available to everyone even when a mobile is elsewhere or out of battery.

03

Automation without context

Useful profiles can consider occupancy, daylight, temperature, weather and recent manual choices rather than obeying rigid schedules alone.

04

No sensible fallback

Essential functions should retain straightforward local operation and be designed so the house remains usable if one connected service is unavailable.

Nice Home Control

One familiar experience across the whole property.

Nice Home Control, formerly Elan, is our primary whole-home platform. It provides a consistent interface while allowing specialist lighting, climate, security, access, audio and shading systems to do the jobs they are best at.

Our preference is to let sensors and carefully configured profiles handle routine actions, then provide dependable room controls for manual changes. The app remains valuable away from the property without becoming the only way to operate the home.

  • Lighting scenes using HDL, Shelly, Lutron and Philips Hue
  • High-quality warm-white and RGBW COB LED integration
  • Heatmiser and underfloor-heating control
  • Texecom alarms, CCTV and compatible environmental sensors
  • Paxton and 2N door entry, gates and access
  • Somfy, Silent Gliss and Yubii shading integration
  • Cinema, television and multi-room audio control
  • Rithum, HDL Tile and Nice touchscreens or handheld control

From first conversation to handover

A professional installation, planned as one complete project.

  1. 01

    Lifestyle and property survey

We discuss how each room is used, what should happen automatically and where obvious manual control is important.

  2. 02

    System design

Infrastructure, controls, sensors, integrations and fallback operation are documented before products are committed or walls are closed.

  3. 03

    Installation and programming

Specialist systems are connected through Nice and programmed around useful scenes, occupancy and everyday routines.

  4. 04

    Handover and refinement

The home is demonstrated clearly, then profiles can be refined after you have experienced them in normal day-to-day use.

Useful questions

Before your project begins.

Is home automation only suitable for a new build?+

No. New builds provide the greatest cabling freedom, but existing properties can use a combination of new wiring, wireless products and carefully planned upgrades. A survey establishes what is practical before a design is proposed.

Will I need my phone to control the house?+

No. We deliberately prioritise sensors, room keypads, touchscreens and dedicated controls. The mobile app is useful remotely or when convenient, but it should not be the only way to operate essential functions.

What can Nice Home Control integrate?+

Depending on the selected products, Nice can coordinate lighting, heating, media, music, CCTV, alarms, door entry, gates, blinds, curtains and environmental sensors. Compatibility is verified as part of the design.

Can I see a working system before deciding?+

Yes. Our appointment-only Paignton demonstration room includes Nice control, CCTV, cinema, RGBW lighting, Philips Hue, Shelly, HDL, a Rithum switch and HDL Tile.
