Who is responsible for your information?

South Devon Audio Visual Ltd is the data controller for information submitted through this website and information handled while discussing or delivering our services.

Contact: info@southdevonav.co.uk or 01803 858 575. South Devon Audio Visual Ltd is registered in England and Wales under company number 10051128.

Information we collect

When you send a survey, consultation or demonstration-room enquiry, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, postcode or project area, preferred contact method and the project information you choose to provide. If you become a customer, we may also hold project correspondence, plans, specifications, quotations, invoices, installation records and support history.

Our hosting provider may process limited technical information such as IP addresses, browser information and server logs to deliver and secure the website. If you consent to Google Analytics, we also receive aggregated and pseudonymous information about visits, page use, device category, approximate location and how visitors reach the website.

Why we use it

  • To respond to enquiries and take steps you request before entering into a contract.
  • To survey, quote, design, install and support agreed work.
  • To manage customer service, business administration, security and legal obligations.
  • To send occasional articles or company news only where you have consented, or where another lawful marketing permission genuinely applies.

Our lawful bases

Depending on the situation, we rely on steps taken at your request before a contract, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the business, or your consent. Optional Google Analytics and consent-based marketing rely on your consent, which you can withdraw without affecting other services.

Who receives information

Information is shared only where reasonably necessary. This can include website hosting and email-delivery providers, contractors involved in an agreed project, professional advisers, and public authorities where the law requires it. Our website enquiry emails are delivered using Resend, the website is hosted by Render, and—only after analytics consent—Google processes website measurement data. Providers may process information outside the UK under appropriate contractual or legal safeguards.

How long we keep it

Unsuccessful or preliminary enquiries are normally kept for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact. Customer, contractual and financial records may be retained for up to six years, or longer where a warranty, continuing support requirement or legal obligation makes that appropriate. Marketing preferences are retained until you unsubscribe or we no longer need the record.

Your rights

You may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection to certain uses. Some rights depend on the circumstances and the lawful basis involved. Contact us using the details above. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Marketing

Newsletter and article emails will include a straightforward way to unsubscribe. We do not sell customer contact details. An enquiry does not automatically subscribe you to marketing.
